Due to a low Cashbox peak, I suspect, this #37 1972 BB hit is not in the database. For those interested, however, my commercial 45 has a stated time of (3:10), but an actual time of (3:26). The only domestic CD I know it to be on, "Ultimate Collection" (Hip-O 314 556 698-2), is (S), and runs (4:28).

Hip-O Select did reissue the Geronimo's Cadillac album and I have a reissue vinyl of the album and the version on the Hip-O Ultimate Collection is the album version.

The 45 version can be re-created by editing the LP version. There are two edits and an early fade. The first edit is at 1:38 on the LP version, cutting out the instrumental section right up to the vocals of the next verse. The second edit is near the end (3:23 of the LP version), also cutting the instrumental passage. The song quickly fades to the 3:25 mark, where the last word heard is "cadillac."

<The second edit is near the end (3:23 of the LP version)>
This brings up a good point that I'd like to mention. Aaron clarifies that the second spot to edit, the 3:23 spot, is in reference to the original LP version, as opposed to the spot in the new edit you're creating, which already has a different "3:23 spot" since you've already edited out an earlier portion of the song. Sometimes when people have described edits, it's not clear as to whether the 2nd edit spot is in reference to the original WAV or the newly-formed, shorter edit already in progress. So if people could do what Aaron has done here and specify which specific version that are referring to when giving the next edit spot, that would be very helpful. |

The other label that reissued the album on CD is Raven in Australia.

So does that mean the edits have to be done from the end of the song backwards? |

The method of editing is up to you. Rather than posting "with what you have left" instructions, I simply pointed out the places on the full length LP version that are edited out.
I did leave editing instructions for "Holiday" in reverse order for this very reason (see Madonna edits post). There is less confusion as to where the edit points are supposed to be if you do it in reverse. Edited by aaronk |
