My commercial 45, which is mono and confirmed as Elf 90020, has a listed time of (3:23), but an actual time of (3:32). As Pat currently notes, I know of no domestic CD that includes this song. Elf was a part of the Amy/Bell/Mala family of labels in 1968. Russell was mainly known for his songwriting successes, so while I'm on this subject, I'm wondering if anyone may know of a possible import CD that includes this song?

The stereo LP version runs (3:54), so there are obviously some other differences besides stereo/mono between the LP and 45. After I hear a copy of the 45, I'll gladly report back with my findings.

Aaron, I still owe my friend EdTop40 a 45 dub of Fleetwood Mac's "Sara" (his copy skips), so while I'm at it, I'll shoot you out a "1432..." 45 dub sometime this weekend as well.

Thanks, Jim. My guess is that they just chopped off all the studio banter on the intro, which would make the time (3:32). I'll let you know after I compare the two.

The Words, Music, Laughter And Tears album is now
available digitally, but to the best of my knowledge the song remains unavailable on a physical CD. |

This song is on a 1995 CD released in Australia, but Sony
Music used a mint 45 as their source and it sounds dull and "muddy." Title of the disc is The Lost 45's: 1960's with a total of twenty tracks. Probably better off with an original stereo LP source where you can shave off the intro as Aaron mentioned above. |

The 2021 digital release of the parent LP is an obvious vinyl dub with no attempt to clean up any surface noise.

Looks like that one did not originate with Sony, but rather a public domain/bootleg company. This one is from Sony, however: https://yo utu.be/_s9djlN1YyU |

Live in stereo.

Thanks for pointing that out, Tom! It appears you can purchase it digitally and in lossless, but the artist is listed as The Richard Wolfe Children's Chorus and not Bobby Russell.
