Pat's database policy in regard to songs that were Top 40 hits more than once is to only reference its initial hit appearance. So, just FYI, in its 1986 45 version configuration, my commercial 45 and both sides of my promo 45 are in stereo, have all of the vocals present in only one channel, similar to its early stereo LP releases. They all have listed times of (2:32) and actual times of (2:31).

And that was the last time the song was available in stereo on vinyl (and for the longest time until recently, was the last time it had been legitimately issued in stereo on any format). The 1990's pink vinyl "for jukeboxes only" 45 was mono.
Live in stereo.

Is the correct 1986 stereo release on the stereo box set? I don't see stereo / mono distinctions in the database on this track.

With the exception of the mono box set, all of the
remasters Apple/EMI has released since 2009 will contain
the original 2-track stereo mix of "Twist and Shout". So
you'll find it on the stand-alone digipak release of
"Please Please Me" as well as Universal's digital
reissue of the US Capitol album "The Early Beatles".

There is only one officially released stereo mix of
"Twist and Shout". However, some releases have narrowed
the wide stereo image and pushed the left and right
channels closer to the center. In the case of Capitol's
"Rock & Roll Music" compilation, the track was both
narrowed and the left and right channels were reversed.

The appearance of the song in Ferris Bueller's Day
Off
was the same old mix but with sound effects and
horns added on top of it to match the scene it appeared.
This was done strictly for the movie and was never
released in any format. Paul McCartney actually
expressed a bit of distaste with the filmmakers'
decision to augment their original recording.
