I did a search before posting a thread about this song and there is another thread on it but the topic is completely different so I started a new thread.
Here is the lowdown: I have acquired a second promo 45 of her hit "Shame" and to my surprise it is a different version. Both promos have the same catalog # (JH-11122) and both have the same matrix# etched in the runout (PB-11122-A-3) The only differences on the label is timing (2:55/2:53) and one copy credits "Mix By David Todd & Al Garrison" Is this a case of RCA dumping this alternate version (2:55) for the more common (2:55) version for the single release? My stock copy of Shame is the 2:55 version and is the one commonly heard on radio. Or did RCA service that alternate version as a "re-service" promo 45? To reiterate, this isn't a case of a longer fade these two version are noticeably different from the beginning. Edited by Fastphilly |

The common version is an edit from the 12" disco single version.
