Bobby Hebb-"Sunny"

My commercial 45, confirmed as Philips 40365, has a listed time of (2:45) and an actual time of (2:44). My 45 is vinyl, with deadwax of "PH W 37895 1". I only post this info because the many current database CDs that include this song have run times ranging from (2:38) to (2:46).

I always pick up Philips/Smash/Mercury/Fontana 45s as vinyl pressings when I have a choice....am thinking that all Mercury vinyl I have from the 60's is on promotional releases, though...but certainly have stock vinyl for the other labels. Almost all copies of Ronnie by the Four Seasons that I've come across in person have been vinyl pressings.

Steve, I could never detect a real pattern to the vinyl Mercury family 45s, which makes sense, considering that they owned their own pressing facilities. All of the vinyl variations I have were RCA-pressed.

The earliest Philips 45s I have have are all vinyl: several copies of the Springfields' "Silver Thread And Golden Needles" from '62 and "Dominique" from late '63. From that point on, though, it was usually Styrene City, save for the occasional oddity, like "Wild Thing" on Fontana.

The latest commercial vinyl pressing I have is a black-label issue of the Four Seasons' "Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow?" from 1968. The orange "Philips" logo was oddly centered to the right at the top of the label on both sides, with the rest of the label copy centered as usual.

I have vinyl DJ 45s of "Save It For Me" and "Crooked Little Man" from '64, but their commercial counterparts were styrene here.
