pat

reviwing tevin campbell's top 40 songs at the moment

i see the song "round and round" is missing an entry

this song in its cassingle form was issued on cd on the "grafitti bridge" cd by prince.......the cassingle states the version as the "album version" and indeed runs 3:55 and it is identical to the version from "graffiti bridge".......might just want to add this info to the database.........

The database currently lists "LP version" for the album T.E.V.I.N. Campbell, but "remix" for Best Of. Correct me if I'm wrong, but don't those two discs have the same version? I believe the T.E.V.I.N. Campbell CD even lists the song as "Soul Mix Edit," although I don't own a copy to check.

Also, there was a US maxi-CD that lists "Single Version" as the lead track, with a remix credited to Kirky J. Is this the same as the album version on the cassette single, or do we have two different mixes?

Bumping this up... Any insight on the "Single Version" from the CD maxi?

In 1991, we only received into the station the "CD-maxi-with-a-paper-jewel-case-slice-cut", and here are the details:

Tevin Campbell-"Round And Round" (9 21740-2)
1-Single Version (listed 3:56; actual 3:55)
2-Soul Mix Extended (listed 6:39; actual 6:37)
3-The House (listed 7:32; actual 7:30)
4-Soul Dub (listed & actual 5:02)

However, a year or two later, I did stumble upon somewhere (Goldmine?) a promo CD single for it being offered. I bought it, and here are the details:

Tevin Campbell-"Round And Round" (PRO-CD-4348)
1-Album Version (listed & actual 3:55)

We obviously played cut 1 from the CD Maxi on-air. My best guess as to why WB chose to send the station the CD Maxi instead of the promo is that, either: 1) At the last minute, they thought that the "single version" was a superior mix for radio, or, 2) They thought "Single Version" sounded better than "Album Version". The two could be one and the same version, who knows. Aaron, I see no "Kirby J." references anywhere on either disc. The Maxi CD does say "Post Production and Mix By Junior Vasquez" (no mention of him on the promo, however), but who knows if his work appears on all 4 of the CD Maxi's tracks? Aaron, if you'd like to compare/contrast these two versions with your trained ear, just let me know.

Jim, yes, I will definitely compare the "Single Version" with the album version that I already have. Please send at your convenience, sir. Thanks!

Thanks to Jim, I can confirm that the "Single Version" on the CD maxi single is the same as the soundtrack album version and 1-track promo CD single version.
