The song "Butter Boy" by Fanny is quite a bit different between the 45 and LP versions. For one, they each have a different vocal take. Secondly, there is a delay effect on the 45 vocals.

Does anyone know if the song "Butter Boy" has shown up on CD outside of the US?

I don't believe there's any import CD with this song (single mix or album mix).

The LP version has the fingersnaps mixed much louder and does have some reverb on them. The snaps are farther back in the mix on the 45, and it's hard to tell if there's any reverb on them.

Sorry but correct date of the release of this CD is June 22nd. Check website of this UK record company (www.cherryred.co.uk) which regularly releases many albums that have never been out on CD before (specially through "7th records" its related record company that specializes in 70s music).

Because Rock and Roll Survivors is the parent album of "Butter Boy", it's pretty much a sure bet the Cherry Red CD release will contain the LP version. But isn't Cherry Red UK considered one of those "gray area" record labels? If so, then I wonder whether this album will be mastered from a tape source or from vinyl?

I've read some comments about Cherry Red's John Miles reissues mastered from vinyl but on the other hand CD reissues of Osmonds/Marie/Donny or Stealers Wheel albums to memtion a few I have, sound as they have been mastered from tapes. I will definitely buy this CD when it comes out later this month and let you know.
