Royal Guardsmen-"Snoopy’s Christmas"

Thought I'd cool things off, here in July, for everybody with a Christmas song. My commercial 45, which is mono and confirmed as Laurie 3416, has a listed time of (3:10) and an actual time of (3:08). I only post this info because I recall owning the original "Snoopy And His Friends" album when I was a kid. I also currently own the Collectables "2-LPs-on-1-CD", that Pat notes in the database. Unfortunately, my 40+ year old LP is long gone, but I THINK I remember that the entire track on my album was all titled "The Story Of Snoopy's Christmas", and was simply one long, over (6:00) track. When I played the album back in '67, the song always sounded to me as if it were all one long song, as the "bombs in the distance" can be heard in the final moments of the "Story Of" portion of the song, and they seem to blend right in with the opening "bomb" sounds heard during the song's "45 version" intro. My Collectables CD has the "Story Of" part as Track 17, which seamlessly transitions into Track 18, which is the Snoopy's Christmas "45 version". I'm just looking for some clarification here. If the tracks were separated by different tracks/titles/grooves on my old album, I do not at all recall that, but it is defintely possible. But if it was in fact, "all one long track", as I vaguely recall, there might need to be a 45/LP version designation needed here. Can anyone help here, with actual, original LP details?

Jim, the Laurie LP is just as you remembered it. Side one consists of three bands, with no physical separation between the "story of..." and the song itself for each of the three hits.

The track info hidden under the jacket's "tear me off" Snoopy poster breaks down each band by "story of" and song listings and timings. The label timings themselves are for the total length of each band.

Trust me, Jim. We don't mind the obsession...because we all have it too! :)

A minor quibble, Randy's last name is not Penny. It's common to get his last name wrong because his email address says PNY but it stands for his last initial and the state he lives in....his actual last name is Price. One of my other friends deliberately calls him "Randy Pony" because of his email address, too.
