There is a 3:12 version of Iesha by Another Bad Creation that has shown up on a couple of cd's like "Absolutely '90s" on Hip-O Records. Can anyone pass along the original source for this 3:12 version?

There is a mix called the 7" Version, but I'm not sure of the run time; I've only seen a listing for it online. I can tell you this much, TM Century's HitDisc series has the 3:12 version you are talking about, so it is likely that the promo single used this version. I cannot say for sure if the promo single has the 7" Version or a different edit.

I've been trying to track down the original source of this 3:12 version of Another Bad Creation's "Iesha" for a while now. I'm inclined to believe this is a radio edit that came from a promo single release, but I still haven't been able to substantiate this.

I have now a photo copy of the dj cd single of Iesha which has 4 different versions on it:
1) LP version (4:30)
2) Stupid Club mix (7:15)
3) 7" version (3:10)
4) Mental Mix (4:23

This seems rather straight forward that the 45 version ran 3:10 however Whitburn lists the running time as 4:07. Does anyone have the commercial cassette single to verify the actual running time?

Pat:

A while back, I posted some info regarding the "Iesha" commercial cassette single on the "Single/album distinctions..." message thread. Edtop40 has a cassingle copy and he says it's the same as the "LP version", except the single fades out a few seconds sooner at 4:17. He also noted the cassette single's label and cardboard sleeve both specifically state "LP version". What's interesting here is I seem to recall reading somewhere that commercial vinyl 45 copies feature the 3:12 edit, which would certainly make sense here given that this edit is called the '7" version'.

my commercial cassingle contains the "lp version" as the A-side.....while it IS the lp version the song fades out quickly for 0:04 from 4:14 to 4:18.....the full cd version runs 4:21.....by doing this you will have proper replicated the true 45/cassingle version....

I just pulled my copy of the commercial 45 (Motown MOTS7-2132), i haven't got time to play it tonight, however the label lists the time as 4:20 and specifys (LP Version) on the label. I have no idea if this side is the A side or if Playground on the other side is the A side.

Bumping this one up yet again... Was it ever officially confirmed that the two 3:11-3:12 database CD appearances of "Iesha" are the 7" Version found on the DJ CD single?
