Though John & Ernest's "Super Fly Meets Shaft" reached #31 on the Billboard Hot 100, it is not listed in the database presumably due to a lower peak on other music charts. For the benefit of anyone interested, commercial 45 copies have an actual run time of 2:32, not 2:25 as stated on the label.

On The Best of Dickie Goodman & Friends/Greatest Fables (Universe HTCD 33205-2) the listed time is 2:32; actual time is 2:30

I love that record. You could see the "Freddie's Dead" joke coming a mile away, but it still tickles me.

This was a Dickie Goodman production and I believe all
of his 45s were issued in mono back then (regardless of the various labels they were released on). If it exists in stereo it's because somebody decades later took stereo sources for each song used in the break-in record and edited their own stereo version. Edited by Santi Paradoa |

His records are like dad jokes. Even though they're corny, they still make me smile. To me, the best of the cut-in records is "Convention '72" by the Delegates. That one never fails to make me smile. |
