   i know that this site shuns import cds, but the only place to find robbie nevil's "dominoes" in it's 45 version is on a cd titled "a time to remember:1987:20 original chart hits"..........the 45 says the 45 version runs 3:58 but it actually runs 4:05.........

	Can the 45 version be edited down from the LP version?

	995wlol: Yes! It's possible. Delete:(1)from 0:34.226 to 0:53.614 /(2)from 4:27 'til the end (Until the chorus of "Dominoes Dominoes"). and fadeout.The acutal 45 running time is accurately "4:07".(Listed Time 3:58). The fadeout of the 45 starts around 3:50. I used the original U.S. LP track of "Dominoes" (Actual running time:4:45). Both the pitch of the 45 and the LP are the same.

	I own all of these "A Time To Remember" discs which also cover the 40's, 50's, 60's, 70's and 80's. I just went through the 80s discs (1980-1989) and found another other hard to find 45 version on these cd's in additon to Dominoes by Robbie Nevil: Who Found Who - Jellybean (A Year To Remember 1987) Will try to go through all of the years and see if there are any other hidden gems on these. -Jeff Edited by Fetta

	I have the set of these from 1970 to 1989. They're produced by EMI, and I get the sense that they're included with birthday cards in Europe as representing music from the year you were born. They're packaged in a shrinkwrapped paper sleeves with year-specific trivia on them. No jewel boxes. They have a designation of "CDCard" in addition to "A Time To Remember", and I'm not sure of how to reference the exact title. A friend of mine found a bunch of them in a museum gift shop, and I had him buy them for me and mail them to me. Ah, we collectors are a strange bunch, aren't we? I'd rate the sound as "good" but not "excellent". Tracks are from good source tapes, with a little more compression than I'd like, but they're not brickwalled/maximized. EQ is pretty good overall. In general, they're not my first choice for sound quality, but they're far, far better than many of the recent collections that are mastered too loud. Track selection is very Europe-centric, which is great for US collectors. I used them to load up my Hot 100 collection with tracks by Suzi Quatro, Debbie Harry solo, Blondie's "Island Of Lost Souls", the LP length of Eddy Grant's "Romancing The Stone", "Dominoes", a Freddie Jackson tune, and a few others. As compilations, they're quite worthwhile, and I recommend buying them if you stumble across any.

	I totally agree. Lots of great tracks that are difficult to get. I havent gone through the 40's-70's yet but will do so and report back. My copies actually did come sealed in jewel cases but I have seen them with the shrink wrap as well. They were definitely priced right as well. I think they were abut $7.99 a piece which wasn't bad about 10 years ago.

	Ok. Hopefully, you all can follow me here... I don't think the 45 version can truly be extracted from the LP version. At the edit point (roughly 0:35 of the 45 version) Nevil sings ".. as she braved the midnight heat." Then a guitar comes in before Nevil sings "Soldiers of Fortune surrender like children." On the LP version, the very beginning of that guitar note is overlapped by Nevil's lingering vocal of the word "apart" from the previous line "...Might one day fall apart," which appears on the LP version. That "might one day fall apart" line is part of the music that was deleted for the 45. So on the 45, it goes ".. as she braved the midnight heat," followed by the guitar note (with no vocal overlap), followed by "Soldiers of Fortune surrender like children." Because the guitar note has an ever so slight vocal overlap on the LP version, I'm not sure that the 45 can truly be extracted from the LP version.
