DONNY & MARIE - "On the shelf"

The US commercial 45's actual running time is "3:39" (The listed time is 3:38 Polydor PD 14510)
I have a Japanese product LP "Goin' Coconuts." The actual Japan LP running time of the "On The Shelf" is "3:54." If the US pressing LP is the same as the Japanese one. A lone entry CD "(S) (3:39) Curb 77610 Greatest Hits" needs a designation of "45 version", "neither the 45 nor LP version" or ":15 shorter than the LP version."
How to check, female background chorus "do-do-do-do..."starts at 3:05 on the US 45, but it on the LP starts at 3:11.

How odd... I just discovered my copy of Donny & Marie Osmond's Greatest Hits CD on Curb 77610 does not contain "On the Shelf", yet the database indicates the song is on there! I purchased this disc sometime in the late '90s/early '00s. Do I have a different pressing, or is the database listing in error?

It's the last track (track ten) on my copy.

Wow... On my copy, Track 10 is "A Little Bit Country, A Little Bit Rock 'n Roll". In fact, the track listing on my disc matches that which is posted on Amazon:

Donny & Marie Osmond - Greatest Hits

My CD also has a copyright year of 1993... So it makes me wonder when and why the Curb label would have elected to switch out "On the Shelf"? I don't see how this could've been due to a licensing issue, given that these songs are performed by the same artists!

My copy is definitely a US issue from 1993, Curb 77610 with track 10 being "On The Shelf". Matrix number is 77610-2 MO S3226D. My guess is that this is a first pressing which was later recalled and issued with "On The Shelf" replaced with "A Little Bit Country, A Little Bit Rock 'n Roll".

In case anyone still is looking for this song on CD, there
is an import from 2012 on 7T's Records (a division of
Cherry Red the UK label) that is called the Singles
Collection with all the A & B sides of the duo's '70s
single releases (total of 18 tracks). Same label that
released their '70s LPs on CD prior.
