For anyone who owns Rhino's Very Best of Change CD, beware that this disc contains a close-but-not-quite-right attempt at creating the 45 version for "A Lover's Holiday." They made a mistake when editing the intro, and the fade is not correct. The 45 has a much quicker fade which runs about two seconds longer than the more gradual fadeout on Rhino's version. The song hit #40 in Billboard in 1980.

Thanks for the information since I plan on working on the 45 edit to this song in the near future. In the second to last sentence did you mean to say "shorter" instead of "longer"? I think of a quicker fade as meaning the fade is shorter.

Sorry, that last sentence is confusing, as I'm talking about two different things. The vinyl 45 runs two seconds longer than the Rhino version, but Rhino's fade is about a 12 second fade (more gradual), while the 45 fade is quicker, taking only about 7 or 8 seconds from start to finish.

the version on the below cd
The Disco Years, Vol. 4: Lost in Music matches the vinyl 45 issued as rfc 49208 except you must fade out for 0:08 from 3:48-3:56 to properly replicate the true vinyl 45.... |

The actual LP running time is (6:22), the listed time is "6:24" on the LP record label. (RFC/Warner Bros. RFC 3438)
Also, the LP version states "A Jim Burgess Mix" on the LP back cover. --abagon |
