Does anyone know what the exact source was for the single edit of "Right Down the Line"? Finally got around to getting the Very Best of Gerry
Rafferty CD released earlier this year. And as far as
my ears can hear, the correct 45 versions of Gerry's
American hits are on the disc. I have some of the
singles on 45 MP3 dubs and no real difference, except
the CD sounds cleaner.
It is fairly bright sounding, with the high ends
getting pumped a bit, but overall, I am pleased with
how good the CD sounds.
The one disappointment is "Stuck In The Middle With
You", which sounds ok. I know I have heard better
sounds on other compilations.
Still the CD is worth the investment just for the 45
