FWIW, my Canadian 45 has a 3:54 printed time, but my

I'm pretty sure 3:54 is an incorrect run time. There's a video on YouTube of the 45 being played, and the music seems to start at :07 and fade
out at 4:22, which would total about 4 minutes and 15 seconds.

Hearts 45 RPM

That's not to say that there couldn't be any stock or promo copies out there that actually do run 3:54, but my guess is that they're all in the
4:15-4:18 area for actual length.

I timed an 18 second intro on my copy.
I fade it out early at the end of song comes out at
3:54.

I've found this exact issue on a few other CD and/or
digital re-issues of albums as well.
It is very frustrating to me.
As far as V/A comps and "Hits" compilations, by all means
use that single master, but albums should be re-issued as
they were!
I understand that *some* albums were changed during their
vinyl run and may have several different versions to
choose from at cd reissue time..so choosing the right one
may be difficult.
It's the ones that are changed for digital re-issue that
annoy me.

Paul, thanks for your take. I will absolutely defer to your opinion on it.
(Honestly, I much preferred the follow-up, "Atlanta Lady", so I probably
had the studio monitor at a very low volume during "Hearts" most of the
time!)   :)
