I listened to my 45 yesterday, and it really does seem like a different mix...the background vocals are about 9:00 and 3:00 for each part of the 3 part harmony, and are more upfont, as is the lead. I have recently recreated the 45 version of "Best of My Love", but have not yet done "Lyin' Eyes". If you still haven't gotten a copy of the former yet, Doug, let me know and I'll e-mail it to you.

Yes, I noticed that too, Paul, when I picked up a copy of the "Take It Easy" 45 two summers ago! I'm a huge longtime Eagles fan and I had never before seen or heard of the B-side "Get You in the Mood". Don't forget another difference between the 45 versions and LP
versions of "Take It Easy" and "Witchy Woman." Both original 45s
were in mono, and, in my opinion, each was mixed a bit differently
from their album versions. "Take It Easy" sounds as though there is
no (or certainly less) reverb on the lead vocal, and the backing vocals
sound more up in the mix. On "Witchy Woman," it seems to me that
the bass has been pushed up in the mix. Oddly, I have the promo
45 for "Witchy Woman" which features both the mono and stereo
mixes. And, "Take It Easy" is worth finding on 45, because the flip,
"Get You In The Mood," has yet to find official release on CD.
