Late in the run, it was carted and played into it being an oldie that way. WJBE in Knoxville had a special James Brown mix of the song with an extended banter by James which was only available to stations he owned. WNOX 990 played the promo 45 as is as did WFLI 1070 in Chattanooga. Hopefully this will give you some East TN perspective. The several different commercial Polydor 45 singles I have owned, all had the James Brown DJ patter on them we're used to.

Edited by KentT

It's highly possible those without banter are "neither"
versions. Hopefully someone owns a copy of the dj 45 to verify. Is it safe to say that the "no banter" version was only on promo 45s? If so, all "45 version" CDs that are missing the banter should probably say "dj 45 version."
