It runs 3:28. A friend of mine has the Best Of CD and it is the 45 version. Pat, another database update for you!

    Author: sriv94
Subject: 515
Posted: 17 November 2005 at 10:49am

Another one for the vinyl collectors.

While listening to the radio today I heard a version of "Country Road" that sounded a little different from the one I'm accustomed to. I E-mailed the DJ to find out where he got it (he had announced that it was the "single mix"), and he responded that it was a dub that someone had sent him that he thought came off of a recently released Best Of package.

Looking at Pat's database, James Taylor's 2003 Best Of collection does have a version of "Country Road" that's about 7-8 seconds longer than the Sweet Baby James/1976 Greatest Hits version (I didn't time the song out on the radio to see if it matched). So for those who have the song on vinyl--does the Best Of version match the 45, or does the other version? Or were there two 45 versions?

Thanks.
