The 45 version is a remix produced by Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis
and it omits the rainstorm intro of the album version, starting with
beat and snare. It runs 4:07. It is available on at least one import

The 45 version is also a slightly different mix than the LP. actually i had never timed the 45 because the intro on the 45 is diferent that the intro on the full 5:56 cd/lp version.....i just timed the 45 and surprisingly the run time of the 45 is 4:06 and NOT 3:50 as printed on the 45's label.....

Ed: I knew I had ONE of Herb's lesser 1987 hits on a Promo CD single, but, oddly, it is April's #46 BB hit "Keep Your Eyes On Me", not September's #35 BB hit "Making Love In The Rain." Not sure about this particular song, but I know for a fact that his "Diamonds," the first single off that same album, was released as a promo CD single in the US, so it's quite possible, maybe even likely, that "Making Love in the Rain" was as well.
