Besides the aforementioned difference I
discovered in 2008, even if you were to fly in the
missing vocal part it still doesn't really match.

I'll stick with the DJ 45 dub that Yah Shure sent me
years ago as the correct version in my library.

Great sound on most tracks, but I noticed that 4 songs on it are "DIGITALLY REMIXED AND REMASTERED". I'd read about the remixes on the Steve Hoffman forum, so I was only half surprised.

Apparently, the remixes are most noticeable in the drums - loud, reverb-laden snare, as was the custom for around 1985, when the remixes were commissioned for the CD releases of their first few albums.

I compared the 1992 GH version with the one on Time-Life's Guitar Rock - The Mid-'70s (1994), and the T-L disc is a digital clone of the GH disc (exactly 0.9 dB louder, to be precise). My 1996 copy of Pat's book indicates "LP length" for the T-L disc, but I think this should be updated to "LP length; remixed" if it hasn't already been done so.

In other words, CD appearances running 3:50-3:51 should contain an "LP version" comment. John also reported that CD entries containing the 3:34 length should contain an "LP version faded :18 early" comment, or something to that effect.

And, he pointed out that the CD versions are missing the "huh huh" after "...shack outside La Grange" is sung at the very beginning. The "huh huh" is present on both the stereo DJ and mono commercial 45 version.

Regarding the listed 3:34 versions in the database. Should either a LP version faded :18 early comment be added, or a 'neither the 45 nor LP' comment?
