It is indeed the mono 45 <br />mix. In fact, it is mastered from a 45 but they did a <br />very good job with it. <br />There is some noise over the intro and fade which matches <br />the surface noise on my copy of the 45 perfectly. But, <br />the noise is low enough and not distracting. To their <br />credit they left the noise alone and did not ruin it with <br />noise reduction. <br />They faded it about 2 seconds early due to the noise at <br />the tail end of the song, the audio is very faint there <br />so I can understand their choice to fade it off. <br /><br />So, all things considered this is good source for this <br />mono mix, which is drier than the stereo LP version. and <br />that awesome funky bass guitar cuts thru with more punch <br />than the stereo mix does. <br /><br />MM  <br />]]>

So, on at least one track it is actually a <br />needledrop which is that sound you hear. The mono 45 of <br />this track is the version which rules. This is not good news, as all of the many current database CDs that contain this song have runtimes ranging from (2:40) to (2:49), while my 45 runs :07 longer than the longest of these database CDs.]]>
