For what it's worth... I just had a chance to analyze both 45 versions, and the differences are very subtle. Basically, the RE-1 issue pushes the lead vocal and horns back in the mix ever-so-slightly, while the bongos are brought forward.

There is no new instrumentation or vocals, and no added reverb that I can detect.

Pat, your current database comment for this song states "actual 45 time is (3:56) not (3:34) as stated on the record label". Perhaps there were two different commercial 45s for this song issued, especially since mine includes an "RE-1" suffix. My stock 45, confirmed as Motown 1462, has both a listed and actual time of (3:59).
