I agree with David, the single was just mixed differently. Very differently, for the entire song! The vocals are very up front on the stereo mix, practically burying the rhythm track in a mono mixdown (at first it sounded like the drum was an overdub on the mono when a/b'ing them but i knew it was there in the stereo mix too, just not loud). Clearly the stereo mix was done as an afterthought, without having the mono mix handy....but it was definitely made using the same take and the vocals are definitely the same.]]>

I have what I believe to be a 45 dub and it does fade at 2:29.  Also, it is mixed quite different, with much more emphasis on the percussion.  I believe it warrants a database update, Pat!  Do you have the single to listen?]]>
