Latest update, including 1977 and 1996, plus significant upgrades to lotsa tracks in the other years.

Please let me know of any errors or omissions that you find.

Incredible stuff. Really. I have spent hours going through just a few of the
years and trying to figure out what I have as regards to single edits, etc. For
the 45 edits, I can't believe how many just in a quick glance in some of the
years might not be on CD yet.

Is there any way to export your lists out as a Excel file or whatever to make it
easier to find a particular artist or song in a year?

Thanks for the info. Never knew about the OPTION-F (Mac) on a web page. I
was also able to copy the text and get into something I can view by Artist,
etc.

My main collecting stops around 1992 or so. I have a hundred or so CD
Singles from the mid 90's that I have never listened to, not my type of music.
Was bought as part of a bigger collection. If I can help plug some holes I will.
I have thousands of 45's, many new-old-stock, but have been on a kick
trying to collect CD singles as of late.

Paul, just to clarify: it's only the original Soul City 008 promo 45 - titled "Slow Dancin'" - that has the edited mono side. The reissue on Big Tree 16094 - titled "Swayin' To The Music (Slow Dancin')" - contains the unedited version on both sides of the mono/stereo DJ 45, as well as the stock 45. Since the record didn't chart on the Hot 100 until Big Tree picked it up, one could argue that the initial Soul City mono edit wasn't the "hit." I won't, but some may.

I should also add (and it was my "clunky edit" comment back in the Stone Age on the "Swayin' To The Music" thread) that it isn't that the second edit, near the end of the record, is all that clunky; it's just that it would have sounded less obvious, had that edit been made a mere 2.5 seconds later.

Paul, had you ridden your bike down to Heilicher Brothers back in 1977, I would have been more than happy to have handed you a copy of the Soul City 008 promo 45. What kept you? ;)

Chuck M. did most of the work assembling the tracks for this one. I just tidied up the filenames and
tags.

The late '90s are deeply unenjoyable for me. I'd given up on pop radio about this time, and don't
have much of a personal connection to most of these songs. Assembling the 1998 library is made much
more unpleasant due to the promo CD singles including pointless multiple versions of every song. At
the time, Top Hits USA listed what version of song they used, but they would frequently add silence at
the end or hasten the fade. I wasn't patient enough to do side-by-side comparisons for many of these,
and it's very possible that the Top Hits USA version matches one of the others on the list. I used
the designation of "hit version" to indicate which version Top Hits USA used.

I will hack my way through 1999, then go back to the '70s.
