This may be a long shot. Orion The Hunter was a flash in
the pan 1980s offshoot of the band Boston. It featured
former Boston members Barry Goudreau, Brad Delp and Fran
Cosmo. The song So You Ran did better on rock radio (top
10) and was a mid-chart hit on Billboard 100 in 1984
(peak #58). I'd like to recreate the 45 version.
There is an official video on youtube but I am not sure
if that is the correct 45 once you cut the first 24
seconds. It's also pitched faster by about 2% vs the LP
version. Perhaps someone has this 45 and can shoot me a
dub or provide the edit points?

My stock copy (Portrait 37-04493) states 3:47, but runs 3:46.3 (Close enough, but I add that tenth of a second in
case the single version ever becomes available). I would shoot you out a dub of the single if I ever figure out how
to e-mail a 38 MB .Wav file! -Bill.

Bill, thank you for the info. At least I now I know
that the run time of the single is accurate.

From what I can gather, and I didn't take notes, there are
2 edits and AN out-of-sequence edit and an early fade on
the out-of-sequence edit.

So I had one of the members of the forum listen to the
quick edits I did with the LP version. Turns out the 45
version can't be recreated from the LP version. According
to him, "Unfortunately, the 45 version can not be recreated
from the LP version. Listen to the dub of the 45 at 2:37 -
the "ooh"s (and a tambourine accent) begin on the start of
the final verse - those vocals are missing when that verse
starts on the LP version. There may be more mix
differences, I just did a random spot check."
So, you'll need a mint 45 dub to add the 45 version to your
collection.

John,
Thanks for creating an edit and having it checked out.
Much appreciated. Since my original post, I was able to
get a very muffled mp3 which I think is the 45 since the
track duration matches. I used it to recreate the the
edit. I'm assuming the person who listened to your edit
has the 45 to compare? If possible, I'd like for them
to listen to my edit and let me know if it matches the
45 dub.
