Anyone notice that "Rolling Stone" magazine has introduced its own Top 100 Songs and Top 200 Albums charts? They appear to be simply the standard BuzzAngle charts. However, BuzzAngle only publishes a top 50 each week, so we're getting to see a weekly top 100 for the first time.

Their methodology for the song chart: a purchased song download counts one-for-one (1=1); 120 audio streams of a song from paid subscription services count as one (120=1); and every 360 audio streams from ad-supported services count as one (360=1). What they refer to "passive listening" (programmed streams) are not counted towards the chart, and neither is airplay.

I guess they started their charts the last week of June:

No offense, I'll stick with Billboard. May be broken at times in its methodology and charting points, but there is some comfort in the consistency of the Hot 100 being that its 61 years old.

I agree. Airplay doesn't count? Really? What about
Youtube plays?
I'm not sure what a "passive stream" is.
