"I'm Gonna Take Care Of Everything" was the lone Hot 100 entry for Rubicon, peaking at #28 in 1978.

From Discogs, it appears that the LP, promo 45, and first pressings of the commercial 45 ran about 3:37. I can't confirm, because I don't have any of the vinyl.

The 3:37 version appears on Varese Sarabande's Lost 45's Of The '70s And '80s Vol. 2 (2000), where it sounds great. That disc, as well as Vol. 1, is fantastic, but pricey.

It appears that later pressings of the 45 have an edited version that ran 3:08. I didn't see any promo 45s with the short version, so I assume that this was a later release than the longer version. (Can anyone confirm?)

If you're fortunate enough to have the long 45 on the Varese disc, here are editing instructions for creating the short 45 edit:

Segment 1
24 beats long
Extends from 0:00.0 to 0:15.7 of the long and short 45 versions
Ends on a downbeat

Remove the 8 beats from 0:15.7 to 0:20.9 of the long 45.

Segment 2
Begins on a downbeat
Extends from 0:15.7 to 0:41.4 of the short 45
Extends from 0:20.9 to 0:46.6 of the long 45
Ends one eighth note (one hi-hat hit) before a downbeat

Remove the 32 beats from 0:46.6 to 1:07.4 of the long 45.

Segment 3
Begins one eighth note (one hi-hat hit) before a downbeat
Extends from 0:41.4 to 3:13.8 (end) of the short 45
Extends from 1:07.4 to 3:39.8 (end) of the long 45

Your mixdown will run 3:11 (excluding outro silence), or 3:13.8 (including outro silence), with edits at 0:15.7 and 0:41.4.

My promo copy of this has a listed time of 3:10 (actual
3:04). There's no mention on the label of it being an edit
other than SPEC-DJ appended to the matrix # (both on the
label and deadwax).

The song didn't get much if any airplay around here.

We played this song in 1978 at WWCB in Corry, PA. The
Program Director tended to play many songs that other
stations didn't.
