I sell CDs on Amazon, and one of my listings was taken down
by Amazon due to copyright infringement, and I was
wondering if anyone here had any thoughts.
The CD is Time-Life's Rock Renaissance. I was only told
that it relates to Jimi Hendrix. At first I thought it
there was a problem with the version on Purple Haze on this
CD, but looking at the track listing, it may be the song
"Hey Joe" by the Leaves.
The CD is no longer listed on Amazon, but the vinyl is...

I wonder if the CD version will become a rare collectible.

Interesting. I understand that the Hendrix Estate is
hard-core obsessive about copyright infringement, but I
think this takes things too far.

I do happen to have this CD in my collection. Thanks for
letting me know. I'll keep it.

That's the first time I've heard of a take-down notice for a used record or CD. I'm pretty sure it would be the Hendrix people at work here.

Here's the full track listing for Time-Life's Classic Rock Vol. 17 Rock Renaissance (1989):

PURPLE HAZE - Jimi Hendrix (1967)
TILL THE END OF THE DAY - Kinks (1966)
ALL I REALLY WANT TO DO - Byrds (1965)
GET ME TO THE WORLD ON TIME - Electric Prunes (1967)
BLACK MAGIC WOMAN - Fleetwood Mac (1968)
KENTUCKY WOMAN - Deep Purple (1968)
WHIPPING POST - Allman Brothers Band (1969)
SOOKIE SOOKIE - Steppenwolf (1968)
FEELING ALRIGHT - Joe Cocker (1969)
SUGAR AND SPICE - Cryan' Shames (1966)
CATCH THE WIND - Donovan (1965)
KICK OUT THE JAMS - MC5 (1969)
SEVEN AND SEVEN IS - Love (1966)
I'M GONNA LOVE YOU TOO - Hullaballoos (1964)
BALLAD OF EASY RIDER - Byrds (1969)
PAPER SUN - Traffic (1967)
HOMBURG - Procol Harum (1967)
HEY JOE - Leaves (1966)
MONEY - Kingsmen (1964)
HAPPENINGS TEN YEARS TIME AGO - Yardbirds (1966)
THE FEEL-LIKE-I'M-FIXIN'-TO-DIE-RAG - Country Joe And The Fish (1967)
COMBINATION OF THE TWO - Big Brother And The Holding Company (1968)

The Time-Life (and Rhino) compilations tend to hold their value over time. This particular disc will likely do the same.
