Here's another promo CD single release I've run across via my research... Michael Jackson's "Dirty Diana" was issued on Epic ESK 1110 with the following tracks and reported run times:

1. Dirty Diana - featuring Steve Stevens (LP Version) - 4:42
2. Dirty Diana - featuring Steve Stevens (Instrumental) - 4:42

I'm not sure if the "LP Version" designation indicates that the LP mix was used here, but the listed run time matches up closer with the 45 length (bear in mind that the commercial 45 contained a different mix than the LP). If anyone who has a promo CD single copy can shed some light on which mix was used along with the actual run time, it would certainly be much appreciated.

I have the promo CD in front of me (ESK 1110). It contains the following:

1. (non described version) (listed 4:42; actual 4:40)
2. Instrumental (listed & actual 4:42)

Underneath both tracks, the back inserts states "featuring Steve Stevens."

It appears that the listing you found erroneously labels track 1 as "LP Version."

Thanks very much for the timing info and for clarifying the description, Aaron. So it would appear pretty likely then that Track 1 is the same as the 45 mix and length.

I didn't pull out my copy of Bad to compare, but it sounded like the 45 version when I gave it a cursory listen.

A thank-you also goes out to Ed for relaying to me that his commercial 45 copy of "Dirty Diana" has an actual run time of 4:40 (there is no printed run time or version description on the label).
