Hi all. Can someone tell me if "Action" by Sweet has a unique single mix, or is it simply an edit from the LP version? Thanks!

It is a unique mix.
The only disc that I ever found it on was a budget Ten Best disc.
It was marked as single version on the disc.

The US 45 runs longer and is a different mix when compared
to the UK 45. The LP version is even longer and the UK 45
was the shortest version of the three. It's the UK 45 that
was included on the Capitol Best Of CD. Thankfully all
three versions have appeared on CD.

Isn't the US 45 just an edit of the US LP? Granted the
edit is in a weird spot, where I think a beat is left out
yet it doesn't sound weird. If this isn't correct, can
anyone say what the differences are in the mixes of the US
single & US LP? Thanks.

Gordon:
One thing is for sure the UK 45 has a unique intro (when
you compare it to the US 45). The song appeared on two
different LPs back then, but only one of those two albums
was released in the US (on Capitol). The UK 45 on
(RCA/Victor) was released six months earlier than the US 45
(on Capitol). That might explain why the US LP version has
the same intro as the US 45, but the UK 45 does not.
