While we're talking about the 'edit' of "American Storm", does anyone know if the FULL LENGTH version issued on promo vinyl [SPRO-9641] has ever been issued on CD anywhere? Nice cold ending.

I just tried to create the 45 version utilizing the LP version from the "Like The Rock" cd and matched it against a copy of the 45.

Unless I am doing something completely wrong, it seems as if the 45 version can not be created from the LP. The fade on the LP version fades much earlier in the song than the 45.   The LP has a long slow fade and the 45 fades out rather quickly towards the end.

Has anyone else noticed this? I can send a copy of the 45 and the LP version if anyone wants to compare.

Yeah, I haven't tried this one myself, but essentially you have to amplify the ending, so that the fade starts later. The only part edited out is a section from about 3:23 to 3:36.

LOL. Some programs will allow you to set your fade above 100%, so you could "fade" from 100% to, say, 200%, which would cause the volume to get louder instead of quieter. It usually takes some tinkering to get it just right, and it's not exactly easy.
