Just noticed that Hip-O Select now has this latest installment in stock, and have just ordered it. FYI, Amazon currently says this 2-CD set will be available through them on 12/21/09. And, incredibly, here in late November, still nothing but the sound of crickets regarding the long-expected-any-week-now "Complete Motown Singles, Vol. 12A/12B: 1972". Dang!

Thanks for the update, Jim! I've been waiting to hear news about when James Brown's The Singles Volume 8 is going to be released.

Not sure what the holdup is with the Complete Motown Singles 1972 box set however.
