Pat:

In the 10th edition, you show the 20:30 version of Vangelis' "Chariots of Fire - Titles" as being the LP version. I have a remastered import CD copy of the Chariots of Fire soundtrack (which I believe is identical to the U.S. release) and I would contend that the LP version should not be considered the 20:30 version titled "Chariots of Fire" found on Track 6, but rather the 3:28 version appearing on Track 1, which is called "Titles" just like on the commercial 45. (Joel Whitburn mentions in Top Pop Singles that the first pressings of the 45 were simply called "Titles" before later pressings were labeled "Chariots of Fire - Titles").   In fact, this 3:28 version and the 45 are identical except the first :12 seconds on the former are edited off the 45 release. (For anyone interested in recreating the single version, this edit occurs immediately before the second soaring synthesizer note. It's very easy.) Meanwhile, you'll notice the 20:30 version sounds nothing like the "Titles" track on the soundtrack or the 45.

There are presently six CDs in the 10th edition where the version of "Chariots of Fire -Titles" running 3:28-3:30 is marked with the comment: "neither the 45 or LP version". I would make a case here that most, if not all, of these CDs actually contain the correct LP version. What do you think?
