I picked up a Phillips original stereo promo 45 on this song and it lists a run time of 3:30 but actually runs 3:36.

Does anybody know what the stock or other DJ copy might show or how long they run?

This one at least is off by 6 seconds.

Bill, Pat already has the "listed (3;30); actual (3:36)" timing notation in the database. My promo 45 only features a mono version of "I Make A Fool Of Myself" on it, and it also happens to be exactly like my commercial 45: listed time (3:30); actual time (3:36). By the way, thanks for all the quality "promo 45s with details" posts lately, Bill - I really enjoy them.

Yeah I missed the notation somehow.. I looked it up but I must have seen the wrong song.

The reason for the posts lately is I keep finding stuff at the local store. All the posts from today are from things I FOUND today in the overstock bins.

interesting.....my mono commercial philips 45 issued as 40484 states the run time on the label as 3:03......could there be two pressings or was there a typing error involed (3:03/3:30)?....the actual 45 run time is 3:38....the run out groove etching is 40574, then 40474 is crossed out......bill and jim can you confirm your run out groove info for the commercial 45, if you have it.....

I only have a stereo DJ promo copy on "I Make A Fool Of Myself". Record number is DJ2-40484 with an etching of 2-40574 1. B side is a stereo copy of September Rain. Label states 45RPM Stereo Single. It's the same stereo mix as on LP and CD. Label time states 3:30, runtime is 3:36 as noted in the database.

Ed, my promo 45's deadwax is a handwritten "40574", followed immediately
by a machine-stamped "40474 1". The "40474" part then has two, left-to-
right thick handwritten lines crossed right through it, as the middle #
should've originally been shown as a "5", just like yours does. My promo's
flip is also "September Rain". I also own two 1967 stock copies, which was
what you'd asked me about. The deadwax for one of them is exactly the
same as my promo 45 is. My other stock copy has one deadwax variation.
The double crossed-out "40474" has a "4" at the end, not the "1" shown on
all my other copies. Possibly its 4th different lacquer master/pressing run?
This second commercial 45 copy does also state a listed time of (3:03). The
Philips "typo dept." seemed to be hard at work on this one!

To Bill Cahill:

You mentioned "it's the same stereo mix as on LP and CD".

What LP contained the song back then?

I *thought* it was a 45-only release.
