My commercial 45, which is stereo, has a listed time of (2:57), but an actual time of (2:54).

This song appears on the two disc set Brunswick Top 40
R&B Singles 1966-1975, but it's not currently listed in
the database. It's track two on disc two.

I have no knowledge of this song at all, but does anyone
know why the one CD in the database has the song running
10 seconds longer than the others? 45 vs. LP version?
Alternate recording?

I'll take a stab..My Brunswick single times in at 2:55.9.
Close enuf to Jim's. I don't have the original L.P., but
I do have the Brunswick LP BL754186, 'Various Artists
Greatest Hits' with the gold records on the cover. The LP
states the time as 3:12, but actually is 3:14.8. On first
listening, it seems that the single is an early fade, but
there might be a mix difference. I'll have to listen with
headphones. -Bill.

Oh, and I have the CD, 'The Brunswick Years, Volume One',
BRU 81009-2, in which the 'Sly, Slick, and the Wicked' is
track 9 on disc 2 of 2, My CD has a copywrite date of
1995, so this might not be the same CD as Santi alluded
to. The CD states the time as 2:56 and it does run that
length. -Bill
