I only have a mono/stereo promo 45 for this one. I would've normally skipped right past this one, except that the various database CDs show almost a :10 time disparity, without notation. So, to pinpoint the actual 45 time, I gave the stopwatch treatment to both sides of my promo. My Whitburn book shows a listed time for it of (3:35); both sides of my promo also state that. Both sides of my promo actually time in at (3:36). An insignificant (:01) difference between listed/actual time. But I do know that some folks on this Board will now gravitate more towards using the (3:38)-ish CD appearances, rather than the (3:29)-ish CD lengths, for "official 45" purposes. Does anybody have a commercial 45? It's probably the same time as my promo, but we've all been surprised before.....

I have just obtained a commercial 45 for this one, which is in stereo. It has a listed time of (3:35), but an actual time of (3:38).

As far as LPs go, The Jackson 5's "Corner of the Sky" first appeared on the Pippin original broadway soundtrack in 1972 and then less than a year later on the group's Skywriter LP. I'd be curious to know if the song on one or both of these LPs runs closer to the 3:29 time that has surfaced on CD on a couple of occasions. Can anyone help shed some light on this?

On the vinyl "Skywriter" LP, this song runs (3:33) not (3:30) as stated on the record label.

Ah... so we've uncovered a significant enough difference in length between the 45 and LP. Thanks, Jim and Pat!
