I know this just missed BILLBOARD's top 40, but an edited version of this charted in 1976. For some reason, I'm thinking that there was a word or phrase replaced in addition to snipping out the opening (1:20) to create the single version. Anybody know for sure?

The promo 45 at least edits the phrase "Got em by the balls" to "Got em by the bun". Takes the "b" from balls and edits to the "un" from the phrase "in bed and having fun. So balls changes to bun. A rather awkward but necessary edit for radio. I don't know what the stock copy sounds like.

Thanks, Bill.

Can't remember offhand (been awhile since I've heard it on the radio), but anyone know if the TM Century/JonesTM version uses the censored version (with the LP intro)? Aaron?

It's not likely, Doug. The disc it's featured on is 532R, which tells me two things: 1) it's one of their old discs (probably produced pre-1990), and 2) it's from the classic rock library, which did not usually feature single mixes and edits. Classic rock stations would probably not care about playing that line on the air anyhow. I've heard worse on my local CR stations.
