The original 45 has a train whistle sound effect that is missing on the 'Annette's Scrapbook CD'.

I have "Scrapbook", as well as 3 other CD sources (the 2-CD "A Musical Reunion", K-Tel "F Avalon/A Funicello", and a 26-track Japanese import), and all 3 of these CDs also omit the train whistle.

It's taken four and a half years, but I may have finally figured this one out.

The Jasmine label (a UK based label specializing in recordings more than fifty years old that have fallen into the public domain there) recently released a two-CD set, First Name Initial - All Her Chart Hits And More, containing both the LP and 45 versions of "Train of Love". The version appearing on all four CDs listed in the database is the version from the Annette Sings Anka LP. The sound quality of the 45 version on the Jasmine CD is pretty good. (It does not seem to be from a vinyl source.)

Yeah, I have the Japanese "Annette Sings Anka" CD, and it
doesn't have the train whistle, either.

paul c was kind enough to send me a wave file of the song
from his import cd "First Name Initial - All Her Chart Hits
And More" and, to me, with headphones on, it sounds like a
vinyl dub.......al beit a good one....
