anyone know if the song "word to the mutha" by bell biv devoe was ever release in the usa on a promo cd single.........i have the uk import cd single issued as mca mcstd1587.......but i've never seen a usa promo.......anyone help here??

I'm afraid no U.S. promo CD single for "Word to the
Mutha!" is listed in Gregory Cooper's 1998 book,
"Collectible Compact Disc Price Guide 2", so it more than
likely doesn't exist. However, he does show three
imports: 1) The U.K. edition that you already have on MCA
MCSTD-1587, 2) a German edition on MCA MCD-17850, and 3)
a 3" Japanese edition on MCA MVDM-8. Sorry, I don't know
how the German and Japanese editions differ from the U.K.
version (if at all), but hope this helps...

during this songs peak airplay run in september-october 1991, does anyone know which track was most commonly played on radio.....my import cd single has 4 tracks as listed below
1-radio mentality with rap
2-club mentality
3-radio mentality without rap
4-instrumental

I posted the promo CD info in another thread, as it does exist. Our top 40 station never played this song, nor did any station in my market in '91.
