Ringmaster_D, Fetta, cmmmbase, and I are just wrapping up a Bob Marley singles project. While Bob didn't have any top 40 hits in the US, most of us proboably at least have "Legend" on our CD shelves. In doing this project, we collected most of the original US and UK 45s for reference, and I thought others might be interested in our findings. (Note: Unless it was known that the US and UK 45s contained different mixes, we generally only tracked down one or the other, with the US 45s taking precedence.)

singles from Catch A Fire
"Rock It Baby" (listed & actual 2:35) - dedicated mono mix
"Concrete Jungle" (listed & actual 3:59) - dedicated mono mix
"Stir It Up" (listed 3:35) - not released as a single in 1973; in 1984, a US promo 45 was issued, presumably containing the same edit found on the '84 Legend LP, which runs an actual 3:36

singles from Burnin'
"Get Up, Stand Up" (listed 3:15; actual 3:07) - a subtly different mix from start to finish, which has a countoff at the beginning and fades earlier than the LP version
"I Shot The Sheriff" (listed 3:00; actual 2:57) - an early fade of the LP version

singles from Natty Dread
"Lively Up Yourself" (listed & actual 2:51) - an early fade of the LP version
"So Jah Seh" (UK A-side; B-side of "Lively Up Yourself" in US; actual 3:07) - a dedicated single mix slightly different from the LP mix

singles from Live!
"No Woman, No Cry" (Live) (listed 3:57; actual 3:58) - an edit of the LP version

singles from Rastaman Vibration
"Jah Live" (UK A-side; actual 4:15) - originally a single-only release but added to the album during the CD era; 45 has a narrowed version of the "Original Mix" found on the deluxe edition of the CD
"Johnny Was (Woman Hold Her Head And Cry)" (UK A-side; actual 3:45) - same as LP
"Roots, Rock, Reggae" (listed 2:57; actual 3:01) - an edit of the single mix found on the deluxe edition of the CD
"Who The Cap Fit" (listed 3:15; actual 3:26) - a dedicated single mix with overdubs not heard on the LP version

singles from Exodus
"Exodus" (listed 3:59; actual 4:01) - an edit of the LP version
"Waiting In Vain" (listed 3:29; actual 3:32) - a dedicated mono mix
"Jamming" (UK single version) (UK A-side in 1977; not released in the US until 1981; listed 3:15; actual 3:17) - a dedicated single mix
"Jamming" (US single version) (listed & actual 3:20) - an early fade of the LP version
"Punky Reggae Party" (UK B-side; listed 4:25; actual 4:24) (We included this since it is on the original Legend cassette release, as well as CD reissues.) - an early fade of the "Long Version"
"Three Little Birds" (UK A-side released in 1980; actual time unknown) - This is one of the few 45s we haven't yet tracked down, but the dub we have runs 4% faster than the CD version. The mix is the same as the LP version.
"One Love / People Get Ready" (album cut; not originally released as a single)

singles from Kaya
"Is This Love" (UK single version) (listed 3:50; [presumably] actual 3:54) - dedicated single mix
"Is This Love" (US single version) (listed 3:52; actual 3:51) - same as LP version
"Easy Skanking" (We included this since it is on the original Legend cassette release, as well as CD reissues. It was not originally released as a single.)
"Satisfy My Soul" (UK A-side; listed & actual 3:50) - an edit of the LP version

This wraps up the first half of the project. I'll post the details on the remaing singles soon.

Part 2:

singles from Survival
Wake Up And Live (listed 4:18; actual 4:19) - edit of LP version
So Much Trouble In The World (UK A-side; listed 3:50; actual 3:34) - edit of LP version
Survival (UK A-side; actual 3:54) - same as LP
One Drop (Edit) (listed 4:17; actual 4:18) - dedicated single mix; I am not sure what this is an "edit" of, but I haven't found any longer versions that contain this mix.
Zimbabwe (UK A-side; listed 3:50; actual 3:40) - slightly early fade of LP version

singles from Uprising
Could You Be Loved (Edit) (listed & actual 3:35) - dedicated single mix
Coming In From The Cold (listed 4:30; actual 4:31) - same as LP
Redemption Song (UK A-side & US B-side of "Coming In From The Cold"; listed 3:45; [presumably] actual 3:47) - same as LP (UK 7" is the same as the LP version, and it's likely the US B-side is the same.)

singles from Countryman soundtrack
Natural Mystic (UK A-side; listed 3:30; actual 3:28) - remixed and includes several overdubs compared to original version, but same as the version found on the Countryman soundtrack

singles from Confrontation
Buffalo Soldier (listed 2:45; actual 2:43) - edit of LP version
Mix Up, Mix Up (listed 3:54; actual 3:34) - out-of-sequence edit of LP version (a tricky one with 10 edits)

singles from Legend
One Love / People Get Ready (Remix) (UK A-side; listed 2:53; actual 2:51) - same as 1984 Legend vinyl LP version
Waiting In Vain (Remix) (UK A-side; listed & actual 3:59) - dedicated single mix (different from longer remix)
Three Little Birds (Remix) (UK A-side; listed 3:38; actual 3:35) - an edit of longer Julian Mendelsohn remix, but there is one unique segment heard on the single version

singles from Songs Of Freedom
Iron Lion Zion (7" Mix) (actual 3:21) - drastically remixed compared to the version appearing on the 1992 box set
Why Should I (Bone Remix Edit) (actual 3:58) - drastically remixed compared to the version appearing on the 1992 box set

singles from Chances Are (1981 release on Cotillion records, which are pre-Island recordings)
Reggae On Broadway (listed 3:15; actual 3:17) - edit of LP version
Chances Are (listed 2:40; actual 2:42) - early fade of LP version
