257 Melissa Manchester and Peabo Bryson - Lovers After
All 3:43

The 45 version is on Melissa's Through The Eyes Of
Love: Complete Arista Singles 2 CD set from a few
years back.

395 Helen Reddy - I Can't Say Goodbye To You 3:50

It's on her 1995 Varese Sarabande MCA years comp When
I Dream. It's only version out there taken from master
tape. Some horrible needle drops were made of those
albums later due to the tapes burning in the Universal
Vault fire. Hard to find cheap now.

I have it on "The Essential Helen Reddy Collection: I Am
Woman". Don't know if it's a needledrop, though. It came
out after the Varese compilation.

Earth, Wind, and Fire's "And love goes on" 7" remix
was inlcuded on Big Break Records (BBR) 2012 reissue
of Faces.

Fleetwood Mac's 45 version of "Fireflies" was included
on 2018's 50 years-Don't stop 3 cd set.

Rufus and Chaka Khan's "Sharing the Love" 45 matches
the time on MCA Special Products' Classic R&B Oldies
from the 80's Volume 3.

The remix edit of the Spinners' "Yesterday once
more/nothing remains the same can be found on the 3cd
set Chrome Collection issued in 2003.

Deniece Williams 45 edit of "Silly" is on the BBR
reissue of "My Melody" issued 2011. It can also be
found on 2021's uber deluxe Free: Columbia/Arc
recordings 1976-1988. That set is comprised of all her
albums plus an 8th bonus disc of many 12" and 7"
versions.

Dionne Warwick's "Some changes are for good" was
included on a recent 12 disc uber deluxe: Deja Vu: The
Arista recordings 1979-1994.

The Andy Gibb/Victoria Principal song is on a VA compilation from Brazil titled, "You & I", but runs about 4-5 seconds shorter than 2:38. It's also
listed on the back inlay of the disc (as well as the Discogs listing) as "All I Want To Do Is Dream".

The 45 version of Lulu's "If I Were You" has never made it to CD/Digital, has it?

Crismon (UK) has issued a 3 CD compilation of Lulu
(Gold) which includes a 3.13 version of "If I were you"
which I understand is the 45 version.

I believe it depended on the territory. The USA got a 45 version with an entirely new lead vocal.

I once ripped the 45 I have but the version on the CD
which I bought sounds the same to me (I might be
mistaken). I will check it again.

Rich- #236 Paul Anka - 'I've Been Waiting For You All My Life' the 2:48 version is on the Taragon CD #1072, 'Vegas Style'. I have
#291 Icehouse - 'We Can Get Together', on the 'Masterfile' CD on Massive 7808070. It runs 3:43, but I don't have the 45 RPM single on
Chrysalis to compare. I'm not sure of the legitimacy of it, either. #300, Moody Blues - 'Talking Out Of Turn' is 4:10 on 'the
Singles+' CD on BR Music 89 8123. #302, Bernadette Peters - 'Dedicated To The One I Love' is on 'Now Playing' on MCA 5244, and runs
2:11. #319, Pure Prairie League - 'You're Mine Tonight' has the 3:33 version on 'Let Me Love You Tonight' on KRB 1007CD. #325,
Delbert McClinton - 'Shotgun Rider' is on his 'Best Of' on Curb 77415, 3:10, licensed from CEMA special markets. #336 Leon Redbone -
'Seduced' is on his 'From Branch To Branch' Emerald City (ATCO) 38136 CD, and runs 2:42. #345, Pablo Cruise - 'Slip Away', is on
their 'Want You Tonight' CD on Universal Music 069 490 587-2, and runs 3:46. #371, Freddy Cannon - 'Let's Put The Fun Back In Rock &
Roll' is on his 'Very Best 1964-1981' CD on Varese Sarabande 302 066 341-2, and runs 3:41. #379, Don McLean - 'It's Just The Sun', is
on the Edsel CD, EDSD-2024, with the title 'Prime Time/Chain Lightning/Believers' 3 on 2 CD, and runs 2:29. #387, McGuffey Lane -
'Long Time Lovin' You' is on their two-fer CD that came out on Collectors Choice CCM-687, and runs 3:57. #396, Terri Gibbs - 'Rich
Man' is on her 'Best Of Terri Gibbs' on Varese Serabande VSD-5615, and runs 3:07. -Bill.

I have "We Can Get Together" by Icehouse on "The Best
Of Icehouse" cd from Repertoire (German label) from
2013. It purports to contain many single
versions/mixes, including this song (actual running
time 3:45, track lists 3:48).

That being said, it is an import, so I'm not sure
where these single versions/mixes originate. But
"Electric Blue" and "Crazy" both appear to be the US
versions. The one downside (for me) is that this cd
doesn't include "Sister", my favorite track by them.

Take a listen circa 2:10. On the LP version, the lyric "All the love I have" is sung with equal weight on the words. On the New Vocal US 45 version, Lulu draws out the word "have."

For anyone looking for this song from a tape source,
avoid the Canadian CD, Disc Jockey Hits Volume
2
(Stardust 1004), on which it is mastered from
vinyl.

The original version of "Let's Put The Fun Back In
Rock & Roll", by the Canadian band Jason (produced and
co-written by Bob Feldman of The Strangeloves),
reached #80 in Canada in 1975. The lead vocalist is
Steve Smith, who would become better known as Red
Green from The Red Green Show, shown in the US
on many PBS stations.

My 45 dub of the Jason version:

Hi,

I do not know if it is the 45 version, but Suzi Quatro's Lipstick is on 1996's The Wild One Classic Quatro from Razor & Tie.

----

I see it's not same as the 45, the length is 4:10

Rich,

I looked at the version of "343 Tarney Spencer Band No Time To Lose" I have. It's an album cut over four and a half minutes. In this album version town here, I don't think I have ever heard the 45 version.

I haven't been on this site in about 4 months and didn't read this until now. Do
you still need it? Or did you get it from qobuz?
