In 2005, Ben Folds covered this 90's Dr. Dre composition which hit the Hot 100. However was there ever a clean version issued on CD or a promo? It's laced with a lot of profanity.

The only listing at discogs is this:

https://www.discogs.com/Ben-Folds-Bitches-Aint-Shit/release/ 1182930

I can say I honestly never heard this cover. 15 years later I don't think covering the song this way would fly.

Anyone know if its clean anywhere? Thanks in advance...

I've never heard it clean anywhere. I think that the
profanity in the lyrics is why Ben chose to do a cover
of it, since it contrasts with the more gentle melody
that he set them to (not unlike Dynamite Hack who
covered NWA's Boys In The Hood).

I know Ben has recently gone on to say that he regrets
this cover a little, in particular because he chose to
still include the N word (though it was used in the
intended non-offensive vernacular, it just doesn't bode
well when its delivered by some white guys in their
30s/40s). As a Ben Folds fan, I thought it was super
funny and creative at the time it came out but certainly
hasn't aged too well. I could be wrong but I don't think
he's performed it live in 15 years or so.

I wish I had the editing skills to create a clean edit. Anyone know of some program that can accomplish that?

Being a huge Ben Folds (Five) fan, this cover was always a
bit funny to me. Similar to what LunarLaugh said above,
the gentle melody he uses really doesn't match the lyrics
of the song which is what makes it kind of funny.

I've never seen or heard an edited version but the unedited
version also appears on the below which is where I heard it
the first time.

Rich, I use Goldwave for my editing. Been using it for
over 20 years. A lot of people use Audacity, which I use
as well.

There is an edited version, 3:53 that I recently obtained. It also has the explicit at 3:53 as well. Joel Whitburn's pop annual lists it as 3:47. However, discogs has no listing for this promo. If anyone happens to know the cd single information much appreciated.

Paul Haney since I cant find the CD single on discogs, where is the 3:47 time you reference come from?
