Two questions about this top 40 hit:

1) Does the 2:58 edit appear on any CD? Or is it exclusive to Primecuts?
2) Can the 3:43 version that is on the promos be edited to recreate the 2:58?

Was it common for Primecuts during this period to have versions that never appears on CD? In 2003 cd singles were still being issued quite frequently...

1) It *might* be exclusive to PrimeCuts. They would
occasionally edit songs even further on the PrimeCuts
series to appease mobile DJs who were in need of
versions that were more than radio-friendly (presumably
for the school dance market).

2. Probably, just because TM's special Primecuts edits
would typically just remove parts of the official edit
and not add to them from different sources.

My copy came from Top Hits USA and is 3:37 in length.

From what I understand many radio stations did in-house edits. When I reconstruct each years Hot 100, I try to be as accurate as possible to what was available. Sometimes when I see these edits, I get skeptical since no CD has them.
