Cherry Red out of the UK will begin reissuing Cilla Black's entire EMI catalogue as deluxe 2CD sets in the coming months. Bonus tracks will include rare non-lp tracks and mono mixes. Cilla's lone Top 40 hit, "You're My World", will almost certainly make an appearance.
Unfortunately, the first set, "Surround Yourself with Cilla" (1969)/"It Makes Me Feel Good" (1976), due 20 July 2018, has dropped two of the mono bonus tracks for time. However, the mono versions of "It'll Never Happen Again" and "I Am A Woman" would fit on the first disc if some of the other bonus tracks were moved to the second disc, where there's space available. If the compilers want to keep the eras distinct, they could put two of the 1969 era bonus tracks as hidden tracks on Disc 2, with adequate silence to separate them from the main program. In short, there's really no reason for these two tracks not to be included.
I think most forum members would agree that it sets a bad precedent to included an incomplete "mono album" on a CD - especially as it's basically now or never for such an endeavour. I don't see a comprehensive Cilla Black reissue campaign ever happening again, certainly not on CD. I'd entreat anyone reading to let the compilers know that they should reinstate the mono mixes of "It'll Never Happen Again" and "I Am a Woman" to the program.:

No "You're My World"?? Seems like an odd omission.
Curiously, was "Surround Yourself With Sorrow" a big hit in
England? I notice there are 4 different takes of it here.
Good song, though it did nothing here in the U.S.

These new 2CD sets are centred around original albums, so "You're My World" will likely be added as a bonus track to the reissue of Cilla Black's UK debut "Cilla".
"Surround Yourself With Sorrow" peaked at #3 in the UK. Curiously, the parent album was the first of Black's albums not to chart in her homeland - her previouse three long players had all charted within the Top Ten.
The inclusion of multiple versions of "Surround Yourself With Sorrow" is obviously to entice completists. But tracks 1-17 on Disc 1 have already been available together as a digital download, which makes it even more irksome that the mono versions of "It'll Never Happen Again" and "I Am a Woman" have been dropped to make room for tracks such as the Italian version of "... Sorrow" (CD1, Track 15). The Italian version has also already been on CD before. It can be found on the 2005 compilatoin "Cilla In the 60s".
Such programming is all the more reason to let Cherry Red know that they shouldn't neglect the aforementioned mono tracks that haven't been seen the light of day since their original release.
