According to the label on both the 45 and 78 rpm record
appears the information "... The Platters featuring Tony
Wilson" ... however, I think there was no Tony Wilson in
the group, it was Tony Williams (lead singer from 1953
until 1960).

Each and every on-line source I have located that has addressed this issue
simply writes this off as just a label last name "typo", made by some low-
level Mercury employee back in 1956.

Furthermore, as the lead singer for all of the group' biggest hits until 1960,
there really is no doubt, just by listening to the vocal of "My Prayer", that it
clearly features the distinctive vocals of Tony Williams, who also sang lead on
other classic Platters 50's hits such as "Only You", "The Great Pretender",
"The Magic Touch", "Twilight Time", "Smoke Gets In Your Eyes", et al....

assurances in record companies implemented :-)
