I wanted to point out that the database currently shows the following general comment for Michael Jackson's "You Rock My World":

(dj copies of this cd single run (:32) the )

I assume this is another one of those instances where a technical glitch caused the rest of the comment to get cut off due to quotation marks being present.

If my research is accurate, "You Rock My World" was issued as a commercial vinyl 45. Does anyone have a copy who can pass along the timing info?

I'm very much aware of Discogs, Loveland, and in fact regularly use it
for my online research. However, that website is not a reliable source
for determining actual run times because it typically quotes the
printed label times, which regular members of this forum know are
often inaccurate.   This is why I defer questions regarding actual timing
info to the extremely helpful experts here who tap into their vast music
libraries and go to great lengths to accurately time these singles first
hand. I have yet to come across another website on the planet where I
can obtain this sort of valuable information!

I have the 45, but I'm out of town. I can get the info to you when you
get back. I'm 99% sure it's the album version with spoken intro, though.

Brian:

Where you ever able to confirm the commercial 45 run time for Michael Jackson's "Rock Your World"?

Todd, after spending the last couple of days searching for my 45 and not being able to find it, then looking up info on the Internet and seeing that it came in a picture sleeve, I now believe I may have imagined that I had bought it and never actually did. Because it coming in a picture sleeve doesn't ring a bell AT ALL.

I'll try to order one soon and let you know, because I would like to have a copy of the 45 anyway.

EDIT: Mm, I'm seeing two unboxings on YouTube of the vinyl 45, and both of them came in a factory sleeve, not a picture sleeve. I'll keep looking for mine, and if I can't find it I'll see if I can order one.

I have two different promo CDs for "You Rock My World," and here are the details:

ESK 24918
1. Intro (listed & actual 0:32)
2. Album Version (listed 5:07; actual 5:06)
3. Radio Edit (listed & actual 4:25)

The other disc is an official Epic CD-R promo

1. Edit (listed 4:01; actual 4:00)

As you might expect Aaron, timings like trigger the
question...what's the difference between the 4:25 radio
edit and the 4:00 edit?
