That would make the Album Version (with un-mixed intro) a unique version only available on a promo 12".

When Bonnie Tyler's "Holding Out For A Hero" was released worldwide in 1984 (the first four 'Footloose' singles were pretty much released at the same time), it came out without any mixes.
It barely made the Top 40 in the U.S. and bombed elsewhere (U.K. # 96). Over a year later (1985). the single was re-released outside North America and it was massive (U.K. # 2). The 1985 re-release sported new Jellybean mixes, which were never released nor promoted in the U.S.

inch Dance: 70's Groove issued back in 2015.

Also, I believe (no pun intended) that the 12" Disco Mix was available commercially. If memory serves me correctly, my copy is a stock and not a promo. I think I have this one: What A Fool Believes.

commercially. I bought mine at the local shop.

I have a promo 12" of "Bizarre Love Triangle" by New Order that appears to have a unique edit labeled "Extended Edit." This has a listed and actual time of 4:58, and it's a straight edit of the longer 12" Extended Mix.

The radio version edits the spoken intro of the LP version down to only the lines in bold:

I made my own copy of it by editing the intro of the LP version from "Barry White's Greatest Hits" and then adding it onto the 45 version from "All-Time Greatest Hits".

The radio version you describe "is" the
45 version (it matches the 3:31 45 versions listed in
the online database).

Can the short radio edit not be created by using one source? I'm not clear - why did you make your short version from 2 sources?

Because those were the two sources I have on CD: the full LP version (on "Barry White's Greatest Hits", and the 1975 short remix/edit that lacks the spoken intro (on "All-Time Greatest Hits" and "Pure Disco").
