My commercial 45, which is stereo, confirmed as Polydor 14244 with deadwax info of "PD-14244-AS-2", has a listed time of (4:20), but an actual time of (4:14). I do not currently own a promo 45 for this, but the liner notes to the latest Hip-O Select '73-'75 Singles set stated that the "My Thang" DJ 45 included a shorter side that "faded at (3:30)". I don't know if that means the start or end of the fade. Could anyone who may own a promo 45 help out here?

I have finally acquired a promo 45 for this song. The short side has a listed
(3:30), actual (3:29) length (deadwax "DJ-PD-14244-AS-1SH 4-30-74"),
while the long side exactly mimics the stock 45's listed (4:20), actual (4:14)
timing.

I can verify that the short side of the promo 45 is just an early fade of the 4:14 stock 45 version.

The database has a 45 and LP version distinction for this one.
What's the diff?

The LP version has a gong sound effect running :05 which overlaps the first note of the song. No gong sound effect on the 45.
