My commercial 45, confirmed as RCA 8749, has a listed time of (2:33) and an actual time of (2:32). I only post this info because all but one CD in the database that features the original recording of this song run either (2:38) or (2:39); while the other CD runs (2:35).

my commercial 45 is like jim's and runs 2:32...if you pitch
up the 2:35 "best of" cd version to 93.75 bpm's you'll
effectively re-create the true vinyl 45 version running
2:32....

On two CDs I have, The Ultimate Eddy Arnold and The Essential Eddy Arnold, there is an extra line the last time the chorus is sung that is not on my US commercial 45.
On the 45, the last chorus goes:
I want to go with you
To that other world
The one your love takes me to
I want to go with you
On the two CDs mentioned above, the last chorus goes:
I want to go with you
To that other world
The one your love takes me to
I want to go with you
The world your love takes me to
I want to go with you
The Best of CD Ed mentions above has the 45 lyrics but, as Ed states, the song runs a bit slower than the 45 on this CD.

In the database, the "Best Of" is listed as a neither. I'm
confused.

Good catch, Paul! Looks like Pat has sorted it all out in the database. Given that the version of "I Want to Go with You" with the extra verse is so commonly found on CD, I'm kinda curious to know where it first surfaced?
Meanwhile, I notice Amazon lists the correct version on the Eddy Arnold Best of CD (RCA 3675) as being a "remix version". Is this actually a different mix than the one containing the extra verse?

I notice that the database has this notation:
(S) (2:35) &nb sp; RCA 3675 Best Of (alternate take)
While I agree with comments that I've read that this is a
remixed version, and thus does not sound like the original
45, to my ears, it is still the same take as the original
45, and not an alternate take.

Tom,
If you a/b his vocal, although they are VERY close, the first time I can hear a
difference in his singing is at about 0:28 when he sings "takes" - on the 45,
he maintains the same "tone" (not sure if this is the correct term), while on
the alternate take (from "Best Of"), his voice dips. I believe the instrumental
bed to be the same.
To me, the "neither" version is the same take, however it is different at the
end as we have mentioned above. Wish I knew when this version first
appeared too!
Wonder which version was issued on the original stereo LP? MAYBE that
"neither" version?
