My U.S. commercial 45 of Petula Clark's "The Other Man's Grass Is Always Greener" correctly states a run time of (3:02). The song's five domestic CD appearances range in run times from (2:50) to (2:58). The (2:51) appearance on the Downtown to Sunset Boulevard set is an early fade of the 45.

well....good news with this song.....i took a chance and bought
the cd 'twin town' which happens to have the lone mono
version of 'downtown' on it which matches my vinyl 45 once
you slow it down a hair.....BUT....the good news is the
song 'the other mans grass is also greener' on this cd IS
the correct mono version......you'll need to slow the pitch
down to match the vinyl 45 BUT after that it matches
perfectly.....so pat, you'll need to amend the db to
reflect that that song is in mono NOT stereo and the it's
the 45 version just with a quicker pitch.....not a bad cd
to pick up for a buck!!

Thanks to Ed, I was able to hear a dub of Petula Clark's "The Other Man's Grass Is Always Greener" from the Twin Town soundtrack CD (Inner-State/London 314540735) and it is indeed in mono. However, regarding the song's length on this CD, I come up with a run time of 3:01 (the database shows it at 2:58) which is more in line with the commercial 45 length.

On a side note, I must say I find the sound quality of the Petula Clark tracks on the Twin Town CD (particularly "The Other Man's Grass...") to be pretty poor. They're marred with noisy background hiss and sound like they may have come from a higher generation source. It's just unfortunate that the Petula Clark mono singles compilation that was supposed to come out on Collectors' Choice label a couple years ago got cancelled given that it would've mostly likely been mastered from first generation tapes.

todd.....i corrected the pitch on the track, that's why it doesn't line up with the 'twin town' cd.....

It is definitely (2:58) on my "Twin Town" cd and that is exactly where the timing index stops.

Ah, I didn't realize Ed's dub contains the pitch correction he applied.
Disregard my previous comments regarding the Twin Town CD
timing info then.

The song appears in its 45 length and speed on the all mono Sequel (UK) release The Sixties EP Collection. This set includes all of her US Top 40 hits except "I Know A Place" and "You'd Better Come Home," which were apparently never issued on a UK EP. "This Is My Song" is the LP version, and "Kiss Me Goodbye" is not at the correct 45 speed.
